Contat, Justin CV
I am a graduate student in Economics at UNC Chapel Hill going on the job market Fall 2013. My research interests include Political Lobbying, Auction Theory, Mechanism Design, Media Markets, Two-Sided Markets, and Philosophy of Economics. My Job Market Paper looks at the effects of incomplete information and asymmetry between lobbyists as potential problems to the democratic process. We show that current solutions, such as contribution limits, may have unintended consequences due to the strategic nature of lobbying.
